This soft, rich and full-bodied wine combines blackberries,dark/bitter chocolate and allspice to result in a long, lingering finish.

An ideal wine to accompany kudu or beef fillet served with its own jus, rosti and caramelised onions.

Colour:   

Deep red with a full colour to the rim.

Nose:
 Complex aromas of menthol, iodine and blackberries are punctuated by cocoa and sawdust flavours.

Ageing Potential:  A wine to keep though will be ready for drinking 2 - 7 years after bottling.

Vinification:   The grapes were picked fully ripe.The fermantation with SC22 was conducted at 27-30 degrees C and pump overs were vigorous and frequent and done by hand and not by irrigation.The wine fermented completely dry before pressing which due to the super ripe grapes allowed a harded pressing to draw out more of the rich extracts from the grapes.After malolactic the wine received 18 months ageing in 100% French oak barrels.The wine was lightly filtered prior to bottling.
